    As promised, we are back with PART 2 of our walk-through of Tier 3 behavior planning!

    We will focus on wraparound services and safety planning as critical components of a comprehensive behavior plan. And, we will be joined by Sierra Shaw, Parent & Community Support Specialist from Waco ISD. Sierra brings a wealth of real-world experience in collaborating to support students and families with significant levels of need.     Sierra Shaw is the Parent & Community Support Specialist for Waco ISD. She has 20+ years experience working with youth in mental health and behavior support settings across Texas, with a particular focus on special education students with behavioral needs and youth transitioning from residential placements. Sierra is a Restorative Discipline facilitator and is skilled at helping identify underlying root causes and eliminate barriers so families can get the help their students need to be successful in school and in life. Sierra provides parent training and wrap-around service coordination for students with intensive needs. She also serves as the co-chair of the McLennan County CRCG (Community Resource Coordinating Group) for students re-entering the community from residential placement.

    Trudy Bender is the MTSS Marketing Content Manager at Branching Minds. She previously served as the Coordinator of District Behavior Intervention at Waco ISD, where she facilitated the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports for behavior along with initiatives to improve school climate and to build teacher capacity in classroom management through peer coaching. She is passionate about helping teachers and administrators to develop a positive, restorative, instructional approach to behavior that reduces disproportionality in discipline while improving social-emotional and academic outcomes for all students. Trudy holds an Ed.S. in School Psychology from Baylor University.
